At our Diabetes Education Center in Mwurire we provided vulnerable young diabetics with 6 months of training on diabetes management and vocational skills.

Because diabetes is currently an expensive disease to treat in Rwanda, our goal is to equip selected youth with the skills to manage their disease once they are no longer once they are no longer covered by the Life for a Child program. The youth are recruited during our quarterly hospital visits and proceed to live at the Center, taking courses that range from cooking and gardening to beautician training and agriculture.
